Upon arrival in Melo village, you will be greeted with a traditional welcome ceremony, before attending a vibrant performance of dances that celebrate the cultural identity of the Manggarai people. The central moment of the day will be the Traditional Dance Caci, an artistic expression full of symbolism. Known for its heroic character, this dance is performed during important festivities such as weddings, appreciation celebrations (Penti), receptions for distinguished guests , and commemorative events of Indonesian Independence Day . In this dance, two men face each other with whips called Larik, combining wrestling and dance movements in a narrative that represents strength, honor, and community. Beyond the spectacle, the Caci is a profound symbol of solidarity, unity and friendship, fundamental values in the life of the Manggarai people.
